To cultivate a new generation of Chung Chi-ers with the attributes of “Excellence in Academics and Sports, Virtue and Talents, and Spirituality Enhancement”, in addition to the efforts made by the students themselves and the guidance from teachers, sufficient resources from the College also plays an important role. “Young Leaders Award”
The “Young Leaders Award” was launched in 2023/24 to develop all-round leaders. Awarded freshmen will receive scholarships, internship experiences, job shadowing of corporate senior management, and a fireside chat with a C-suite leader. Alumni Mentors will also be assigned to guide and support them. Last year, the eight winning students of the “CUHK Chung Chi College x UOB Young Leaders Award” delivered a series of eight leadership speeches on campus. The speakers were leaders from the local community and business sector, and the event provided an opportunity for Chung Chi students to gain insights from them and get prepared for future social trends and changes. “It is such a great honour to be a recipient of the Young Leaders Award. In the process of preparing for the Leadership Speaker Series, I needed to arrange all the details. In addition to planning the entire speech process, I was also required to communicate and coordinate with different stakeholders, which was a challenging task. I am very grateful to my Alumni Mentor and College staff members for their guidance and support, as well as to the award sponsor and all parties that contribute to the Young Leaders Award, which has brought me an extremely fulfilling freshman experience.”
