“Chung Chi for Excellence”Fundraising Banquet Held Successfully

The “Chung Chi for Excellence” Fundraising Banquet was successfully held on 29 November! Over 110 College trustees, teachers, staff members, and friends joined together to raise funds for Project E and support the development of Chung Chi College.

Dr. Norman Chan, Chair of the Board of Trustees, stated in his speech that the banquet had brought together the old, middle, and young generations, which fully demonstrates the spirit of unity of Chung Chi-ers. He also encouraged banquet participants to mobilise people around them to support Project E.

Professor Kwan Mei Po, Head of Chung Chi College, also expressed her gratitude to all parties for their support of Project E and hoped all the guests at the banquet would have good memories.

There were many exciting programmes on that night, including The Rev. Eddy Kwok and Professor Kwan Mei Po sharing cooking experiences; Professor Chiu Wai Yan Philip, Dean of Medicine of CUHK and also a Chung Chi alumnus, introducing two precious paintings drawn and donated by him and his mother, Professor Chiu Ng Yuet Lau. In the “Singing for Excellence” session, eleven groups of our friends sang in support of Project E. Guest performers also included Chung Chi alumna and the champion of “The Voice of Campus – Singing Across China” Ms. Hung Sum Yee, and The Gay Singers, an A cappella group formed by Chung Chi Music graduates. The banquet raised a total of HK$3 million, three times the previous year’s amount. What a phenomenal achievement!
