Chung Chi College believes a complete university life should include classroom learning and exploring outside the campus and the city. Thanks to the donations from generous alumni, community leaders and individuals, Chung Chi students have been given opportunities to participate in various overseas study activities through the "EYE Award"(Excel Yourself through Exploration), "FLY Award" (Find a Learning opportunity Yourself), sponsored summer programmes, and other College's subsidy schemes over the years. These programmes have enabled students to grow and transform by exploring diverse cultures and broadening their horizons.

Cheng Kwan Wai (Pharmacy) – Music and History Tour in Vienna and Berlin

"Thanks to the funding from the College, I was able to fly to the ‘City of Music’ – Vienna to explore its musical legacy, and visit Berlin, one of the most important cities in modern European history, to study its unique history and culture. I particularly remembered the experience of visiting the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe as it was not only heavy but also thought-provoking. The trip is of enormous benefit to my personal growth.

Tsang Cho Man (Medicine) – Volunteer Service in Nepal

“Last summer, I embarked on a 23-day volunteer trip to several remote villages in Narayani of Nepal, providing health check-ups and teaching services for the villagers. It was hard to cope with the hot climate, but I completed the mission successfully with persistence and determination. Through experiencing the simple and pure way of living, I realized that happiness depends not on material possessions but on spiritual richness. The life wisdom and experience gained from this journey will be a lifelong treasure for me.”

Chan Hin Wing Cynthia (Global Communication) – The 11th University Scholars Leadership Symposium

"The 4-day event was an eye-opening and rewarding experience. University students from 46 countries gathered to participate in talks, workshops, and social services related to humanitarian aid and sustainable development. By exchanging ideas and connecting with global talents, I expanded my horizons and found aspiration to become an influential leader of social development and change.”

Chung Chi’s “EYE Award” aims to motivate students to explore the world by participating in the exchange and non-local programmes and activities organized by the College. At the same time, the “FLY Award” encourages students to develop their interests and enrich international exposure by discovering overseas activities organized by recognized institutes or organizations. Sponsored summer programmes design activities and visits on specific areas and themes to enrich the learning experience and exposure of our students.

Supported by the “EYE Award,” sponsored summer programmes, and other College subsidy schemes, this year's non-local summer programmes are currently in full swing, with destinations covering the Greater Bay Area, Shanghai, Taitung, Cambodia, Singapore, Denmark, and South America, etc. Furthermore, over 70 students will soon begin their world exploration journey through the "FLY Award" programme. Students will cherish their opportunities and make the best of our valuable learning resources.
