The “Chung Chi Student Development Complex” Project has entered its final stage. With the two main blocks and footbridge topped out, the scaffolding and safety net shall be removed in late March to reveal the Complex’s initial appearance to everybody. Meanwhile, the interior work of the Complex is also in full swing. As shown in the photos on the next page, workers are striving to carry out the lighting installation and other interior work, while the infrastructure of various activity rooms is beginning to take shape. Although the COVID-19 situation is severe recently, workers still stay committed to their work, hoping to prevent project delays as much as possible.

The construction and renovation work of the Complex is projected to complete in the summer of 2022, while the Complex is expected to commence in the new academic year. The opening ceremony of the Complex, and the naming ceremonies of the “Kunkle Student Centre”, “Leung Fung Yee Building” and “Fook Wo and Laura Jee Li Theatre” are now scheduled for 28 October to celebrate the College’s 71st Anniversary. The Development Office will follow up on the construction progress in a timely manner, and release details and updates of the Complex and the ceremonies in due course.
