Walk for Excellence: Project E Walkathon

Introduction to Project E

To promote Chung Chi College’s long-term development and education mission of nurturing students with the attributes of “Mastery of Both Academic and Athletics”, “Cultivation of Morality and Service Spirit” and “Spirituality Enhancement”, “Block E Redevelopment Project” (tentatively named “Project E”) is launched to redevelop the nearly 60-year-old staff quarters Block E adjacent to the University MTR station into a twin-block building.

The high block of Project E will be a student hostel, while the low block includes staff quarters, an alumni activity centre, and a Digital Culture and Art Creativity Centre. It will be an important platform for students, academic staff, and alumni to gather and exchange, stimulating creativity and encouraging innovation.

The fundraising goal of Project E was HK$180 million. The walkathon was the first large-scale activity among a series of fundraising activities to be organised by the College. All funds raised in the activity will be designated for Project E.

The Walkathon

“Walkathon for Excellence” was held on 30 April 2023 (Sun) at the Peak. Over 160 alumni, staff and supporters participated in the event with their family members and friends. They walked from Harlech Road to Peak Road, enjoying the beautiful view of Victoria Harbor with relaxing atmosphere. The event has raised over HK$2.4 million, more than double the original target of HK$1 million.

Cheer Up Kit

A Cheer Up Kit was given to participants during the registration at the Peak.
