About Chung Chi

Brief History

Chung Chi College was founded in October 1951 by the representatives of Protestant Churches in Hong Kong, and was formally incorporated under an ordinance of the Hong Kong Government in 1955. In 1956 the College moved to its permanent site in the Ma Liu Shui Valley, New Territories. In 1963, the College was incorporated as one of the three founding colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Integrating Christianity and Chinese cultures, the College endeavors to cultivate love for humanity, freedom and inclusiveness, nurture talents with insightful knowledge, liberal attitude and global horizon.

 

Mission

Chung Chi College emphasizes on whole personal development. We offer different schemes and programmes for students to search and develop their talent, enrich their global experiences and promote health and wellness.

 

College Motto

The College motto “In Pursuit of Excellence” , which emphasizes the spirit “The Never Ending Search of Excellence”, is derived from The Great Learning, Liji (Book of Rites) 《禮記‧大學》.
