The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has its own unique College system. Chung Chi College was incorporated as one of the founding colleges of CUHK when it was founded in 1963. While the Departments/Faculties are responsible for the transmission and creation of knowledge, the colleges play the role of nurturing future leaders by teaching them about “living” and “virtues”.

Complying with the University’s development, Chung Chi has been promoting whole-person education and fulfilling the mission of providing non-formal education out of lessons and academic aspects. The College offers pastoral care, general education and whole-person development through non-formal learning opportunities, which mutually nourishes with the formal academic curriculum to foster students’ personal development and growth, broadening their global horizon and empowering them to pursue their dreams with courage.

The attributes of Chung Chi-er include “Mastery of Both Academic and Athletics”, “Cultivation of Morality and Service Spirit” and “Spirituality Enhancement”. The College aims to uplift its cultivation on the attributes of Chung Chi-er in the next five years through ”Promoting Campus Development”, “Driving Student Development Projects ”and the synergy they create.

To provide students a more ideal and sufficient learning and living environment, Chung Chi will continue to review its spaces, facilities and resources for learning, activity, accommodation and student programmes for enhancing the development and competitiveness of Chung Chi and our students.
